Updated - 13 November 08

Will distribute the Food Drive Barrels this afternoon to run thru next Sunday.

SNS neighborhood committee has several new items to update our neighbors with.   They are:

Food Bank Drive - The drive will take place 11-17 through 11-24-2008 to support the Thanksgiving Holiday.  This year we plan to place the Food Barrels in several locations throughout the neighborhood for easier access.  The success was tremendous last year.  Please participate with anything you may have available.

Monthly Neighborhood Meeting - The committee would like to begin to meet the first Tuesday of each month.  Our first monthly meeting will at the Ahuaha’ Mexican restaurant located at the front of subdivision and is scheduled to take place Tuesday - 12-2-2008.  This is open participation and we ask that everyone try to attend (this includes renting and non-paying membership neighbors). The time will be posted on the board later this month.  We can reserve meeting rooms through the library or other public facilities if this will better meet our needs at some later point.

JC Parade Participation - Interest has been expressed by several persons in past years and at the Fall /Halloween Gathering this year - that perhaps we could participate in the Jones Creek Parade.

We have to make a formal entry and would need to have a committer to handle a float and coordinate this.   Call Sam Williams – 504-382-7397 or Jason Clark 225-324-8979 - if you are able or would like to participate.  Work to begin this project should begin soon.  Entry, theme, ‘people to ride’, throws, will have to be put together soon if we are going to do this.

Solar Camera and Flood Light Installation - This project has begun.  Part of the project – the flood light – has been installed.  The monitoring camera part of the project will be worked on and hopefully completed in the next several months.  The monthly meeting will give us the progress of the project as a whole as the work and cost occur.

Street Sign Numbering - The officers continue to work to shop the kits to make this project happen.  They will shop the number kits, paints, an application procedure to best used.   The street numbering will be put on homes of all paid memberships, if wanted.   More information will be put out to you at a later time.

Fire Ant Treatment Program - We have not found anyone that can work this project at this time.  They have these programs through LSU.  If anyone has any ideas for what can be done to make this happen – please let us know.  The LSU program would require the coordination to get accepted into the program, the distribution criteria and schedules to meet.  Anyone with interest let us know.

Please pay the $40.00 neighborhood fees!

Participate in the neighborhood meetings each month whether you are a paid member or not beginning 12-2-2008.  This year’s officer would like to hear from you however, you will not be a voting member.  Rental neighbors are asked to put this dues request out to your landlords.  We have found that most of them will let you deduct the amount from your rent payment when we provide you with a receipt – which we will certainly do.

We appreciate your continued support and invite everyone to participate!!!!!!!!
